Ways to Financially Support the Longmont Humane Society
1. Join the Pack
A recurring monthly donation means you are committed to showing up for the animals in our community throughout the year. We want to make sure we can meet the needs of our animals as they come up, and our Pack donors ensure we always have the funds available to do so.

2. Give Supplies
Every toy, treat, blanket, and bag of food makes a difference for the animals in our care. Our Amazon, Walmart, and Chewy Wish Lists are updated in real time to reflect the shelter’s greatest needs, making it easy to send the items that help provide comfort, enrichment, and daily care.

3. Donor-Advised Funds
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle that offers tax benefits for donors while supporting the Longmont Humane Society. After making charitable contributions to your DAF, you can recommend grants from your fund to be directed to the Longmont Humane Society. Contact your financial advisor to set up a DAF.
4. Stocks & Bonds
Donating securities (stocks, bonds, and mutual funds) is a straightforward process that can offer significant tax benefits. By transferring your appreciated securities directly to the Longmont Humane Society, you may be eligible for a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the securities and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation.

5. Legacy
Giving
Ensure that animals in our community receive the love and care they deserve for years to come. There are many ways to leave your legacy with the Longmont Humane Society including bequests through your will or trust, bequests of retirement plan assets, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, and more. Please consult your financial advisor and/or legal advisor for more information.
6. Workplace Giving
Did you know that many companies offer matching gift programs for their employees who donate to charitable organizations? Ask your employer today if there is an opportunity to have your donation matched or if they offer donations via payroll deductions.
7. IRA Charitable Rollover
Once you turn 73 years old, you are required to withdraw a certain amount of money from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) each year. This is known as a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). A charitable rollover is a strategic way to lower your taxes on RMD’s while supporting the Longmont Humane Society. Please consult your financial advisor to learn more.
8. Fundraise
Looking for a fun and meaningful way to make a difference in our community? Hosting a fundraiser for the Longmont Humane Society and invite your family, friends, or colleagues to support you. We can do that! Let us know that this is your preference and we won’t send you a tax receipt for every donation you make throughout the year. Please contact our Donor Relations Coordinator Devon Lenderink at dlenderink@longmonthumane.org or 303-772-1232 x 286 and we can make that change.
We will automatically mail or email a tax receipt for any donations we receive. For online donations, you will have the choice between a mailed or emailed tax receipt. For donations made via check or cash, you will receive a printed tax receipt in the mail.
