Training Specialist
Laura Hofmann
Laura was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a variety of smaller pets, but always loved dogs and larger animals. She moved to Colorado in 2015 to be close to the mountains.
Prior to working at Longmont Humane Society (LHS), most of Laura’s experience with animals involved working with horses in a variety of settings, including volunteering for a therapeutic riding organization during college. Laura became a full time training specialist in July of 2018 after being inspired by bringing her dog to obedience classes at LHS. Laura learned more about behavior modification, handling dogs, and leading daily shelter playgroups, (her favorite part). Laura has recently moved on from working at LHS to pursue a new endeavor, but graciously volunteers to continue instructing group classes when she’s able to do so.
Laura enjoys hiking and riding horses. She lives in Arvada with her dog Rocky, who she adopted from LHS after he came in as a stray.
