Russell Hinkle, Chief Executive Officer
Hailing from rural Michigan, Russell grew up with an appreciation for all animals. He attended the University of Michigan, where he acquired a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After an early career in field operations and safety work, Russell sees his position with Longmont Humane Society as an opportunity to utilize his professional skills in a meaningful and fulfilling manner.
Cliff Cullen, Deputy Director
Cliff was born and raised in the Florida Keys where he grew up surrounded by animals, both wild and domestic. This instilled a deep love of all animals from a young age. He moved to Colorado in 2018 after several years in Southern California. He has over 10 years of fundraising experience and is excited to apply this experience to helping LHS fulfill its mission. He lives in Longmont with his wife, Marjorie, and their two cats, Juniper and Dahlia.
Terry Bittner, Finance Manager
Terry (pictured far right) started at LHS in July of 2023 and comes with many years of experience in the non-profit sector. In addition to this valuable experience, he also brings an extensive background in accounting, information technology, and human resources. Terry lives in the Longmont area with his wife and two dogs.
Shelby Bundy, Shelter Manager of Programs
Shelby began her animal welfare adventure as a wee volunteer in Southern California, where she was born and raised, and she turned her love of animals into something actionable. She earned her associate degree in math & sciences, and later her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Shelby joined LHS in Nov 2019 as the Foster Program Supervisor and worked on creating a rock-solid foster program before ultimately becoming the Shelter Manager of Programs, overseeing the Foster, Volunteer, and Transfer departments for LHS. She currently resides in Northern Colorado with her many fur babies. Shelby’s positive attitude is reflected in her daily work at LHS, where she actively works on improving the process for the programs and ensuring that volunteers enjoy their time spent at the shelter.
Crystal has lived in Colorado for 30 years, having grown up in Tennessee and Kentucky. She got her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Louisville. Most of her HR experience has been in the automotive industry and she is thoroughly enjoying her time in animal welfare and making a difference in the lives of our companion animals!
When she’s not working, she can be found hanging out with her favorite black lab, Laramie, and camping in the mountains of Wyoming.
Tori Ashcraft, Shelter Manager – Animal Welfare
Tori started with the Longmont Humane Society in January of 2019, not long after adopting from LHS. She spent several years in the Animal Welfare Team Supervisor role before advancing to Shelter Manager.
She grew up in rural Texas surrounded by a variety of animals. Tori currently resides in Erie with her children and animals. She is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership, and her CAWA certification. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, live music, stand-up comedy, and spending time with her children.
Kelly Renner, Shelter Manager – Animal Welfare
Kelly has been on the Animal Welfare team at LHS since October 2017. In May of 2019 she was promoted to Team Supervisor, and in 2023 advanced to the Shelter Manager role.
Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Colorado State University.
