Lauren first joined LHS in 2013 as a Dog TLC and Outreach Volunteer. Later that same year, she took a job in Client Care at the Intake and Adoption desks, while still volunteering her time walking and learning to handle more challenging dogs. In 2014, Lauren started working as the Public Training Program Coordinator, running the public dog training and shelter Adoption Follow-Up programs, teaching classes, supervising puppy playgroups, and handling training questions. She left this position in 2016, but has enjoyed continuing to teach classes. Her day job involves working with LHS partner, Dogs Playing for Life. Lauren holds a Master’s degree in Criminology from George Mason University, and lives in Fort Collins with her husband and three adopted dogs.
