Liz Smokowski, Chief Executive Officer
Liz graduated from Regis University with a master's in Business Administration and Bloomfield College with a bachelor's in Biology and a minor in Business Management. She has had a passion for animals and animal welfare all of her life including training and education with an associate of Science in Animal Health. She worked as a certified Veterinary Technician and years later, with Longmont Humane Society as a Board Member. That role allowed her the opportunity to combine all of her skills into a rewarding volunteer opportunity that turned into her position here as Chief Executive Officer. 

 

Rhea Moriarity, Director of Shelter and Clinic Operations
Rhea began volunteering at Longmont Humane Society in 2006 in the Dog TLC Program and also as a canine behavioral foster parent. Through her work with LHS' Training and Behavior Program she learned how to comprehensively support dogs and their owners with a variety of tools and techniques. Rhea became an employee of Longmont Humane Society in February, 2010 and has since progressed through various leadership roles. As the Director of Shelter and Clinic Operations, Rhea continues to offer quality programs and care to the animals in our community. She currently lives in Longmont with her two dogs.

 

Pat Monacelli, Director of Development
Pat has a Bachelor's degree in journalism from New Mexico State University. Prior to joining Longmont Humane Society, Pat worked for the United Way system for nearly twenty years, including almost 17 years as a communications director and resource development director for Foothills United Way in Boulder County. He has a passion for creative work and relationship building, and is excited to bring his experience to a great organization doing amazing work for animals in our community. Pat lives in Broomfield with his wife and family, including Nike the Aussie and Sadie the Sheep-doodle. 

 

Jennifer Dombek, Director of Finance
Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years experience in the field of accounting. She is happy to use her accounting skills with an organization making such a positive impact on animal welfare. Jennifer grew up in Baltimore, MD and has lived in Colorado since 1995. She lives in Louisville with her husband, two children and two cats.

 

Russell Hinkle, Director of Facilities and Safety
Hailing from rural Michigan, Russell grew up with an appreciation for all animals. He attended the University of Michigan, where he acquired a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After an early career of field operations and safety work, Russell sees his position with Longmont Humane Society as an opportunity to utilize his professional skills in a meaningful and fulfilling manner.



Tracy Warden, Director of Human Resources
Tracy has over ten years of experience in the field of Human Resources, having worked in both the non-profit and and corporate arenas prior to joining Longmont Humane Society in 2016. She has always been outward focused, sponsoring families with Boulder County Housing Authority, working with CoPirg focusing on bringing awareness to hunger and homelessness and running adopt-a-highway programs. She is very grateful to be a part of the LHS family and has recently added her fourth dog to her family. Tracy lives in Longmont with her husband and two teenagers.
