Thursday, August 31, 2017 - Longmont Humane Society (LHS) volunteers will be traveling to Austin Pets Alive in Austin, Texas to transport adoptable animals from their shelter back to our facility beginning this Saturday, September 2. The goal of this transport will be to assist in freeing up space for those animals that have been displaced by flooding so that they may be sheltered locally, in order to increase their chances of being sucessfully reuinted with their families. In addition, LHS has signed up as a response partner with the ASPCA and the Houston SPCA who will notify us of how we be able to support their efforts going forward.
Foster Home Support
Longmont Humane Society is seeking foster volunteers to house and care for our currently adoptable animals to help make space for animals traveling to our facility from areas affected by flooding. If you are in a position to temporarily care for an animal in your home, please contact Chandra Barker at email@example.com. LHS provides all food, medical care and supplies to our foster families.
Thank you for your interest in helping support the work of Longmont Humane Society and the animals we are caring for from areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. Currently, LHS would benefit from donations of Kongs, canned ground dog food and peanut butter to fill Kongs and other food puzzles. Additionally, the shelter could use clean, thick blankets or comforters for bedding. Please be aware that donations of dog beds cannot be used as they cannot be disinfected.
Your monetary support continues to be important to the American Red Cross, the ASPCA and the Humane Society of the United States who are all on the ground conducting rescue & relief efforts in the Houston area.
